Activities and attractions

Garbhein Cottage and Byre make an ideal base for exploring the western highlands and isles. As well as fantastic walking and climbing for all standards and abilities, including the Glencoe and Ben Nevis rages, there are well marked paths and tracks for gentler walks and excursions. The Ice Factor in the village offers indoor climbing and an ice climbing wall,  sauna and steam rooms, and an outdoor high level rope course .

 

Boat hire is available in nearby Ballachulish, from kayaks to motor launches. Downhill mountain biking using the cable car at the Nevis Range in Fort William, as well as fishing, golf, bike hire. New cycle tracks providing scenic routes towards Oban using former railway line. Beautiful sandy beaches and coastline, scenic drives along lochs and glens. Something for everyone. Fine restaurants or pub grub. Museums, visitor centres, historic sites, or just relax in the beautiful surroundings.
